Daylight in the evening is back again!
Time is on our side once again, which means no more riding in the dark! That also means it’s time to start telling some stories.
The story that launched the entire idea was all about the Capitol Idea Coffee building. After that, I took on different buildings in the neighborhood, then the street names, then historical periods, and now I’m going to mix in a few new elements.
Here are a couple of the upcoming ride themes:
March 27: Lights, camera, ACTION! There have been some recent film projections that have prominently featured Baton Rouge. We’ll make some stops at a few of the filming locations as well as a few stops
April 3: We are going to make a stop at the new Front Yard Bikes location on Government Street. This massive building has an interesting history, and we’re going to learn how the building is being used NOW!
BONUS RIDES!
Because the weather will be perfect for riding, there is the chance for some occasional bonus rides. The brunch ride, for example, will return for the month of April. They will likely coincide with yoga in the park led by Tina Ufford on behalf of The Red Shoes.
And, mark your calendar for Saturday, April 22 for the second annual Bikes and Blooms Spring Garden Tour! Not only is April 22nd Earth Day, it’s also my birthday!
Last year was the first time I hosted the ride and it was a true blast. This year, it’s going to ticketed because you’ll get to take home some things home with you. I’ll have more on that ride coming out soon. For now, just know that it will involve some garden experts, a variety of topics, and of course, a wonderful bike ride.
